For me, it’s what’s accepted as “safe” food, copious amounts of high fructose corn syrup, food dyes, who knows what preservatives, cattle fed solely on grain, yet it’s illegal (yes, illegal) to purchase raw milk in certain states.
In fact, many homesteaders feel this way. They see where society is going, and they said, “No. I don’t want that.”
Every crop grown, every chicken raised, every bread loaf made from scratch, is an act of rebellion against a culture addicted to fast, convenient, loud, and cheap.
